The second weekend in May was a perfect example of my singing travels leading to some beautiful photographic locations.
I attended the all day Sacred Harp singing in Goodshaw, near Burnley, and got the opportunity to sing and take photos in Goodshaw Old Chapel which was built in 1760.
Travelling back to Scotland I decided to spend a night in Bowness on Windermere. Sandown Guest House was perfect and as soon as I arrived one of the owners was giving me suggestions for view points within walking distance! The warm welcome, and local knowledge was very much appreciated, as was the large cooked breakfast the following morning!
This photo is one I shot from the view point on the Saturday night and the other photos from my stay can be viewed via the Flickr Gallery tab.
I hadn't visited the Lake District for years but the short stay has left me wanting to return very soon!
My next adventure takes me to Newcastle and then I have the pleasure of a Shape Note singing workshop in Glasgow. People are coming from, Ireland, Germany, Poland and even England to sing in Glasgow! It's a very exciting time but must make sure I have time for some photography too.
I had the daunting task of taking photographs at a 40th Birthday Party last weekend. I had volunteered to take them as a birthday present and I was a little concerned I may end up with nothing worthwhile at the end of the night. Not sure I could ever take on a wedding! Luckily I got some shots so it's time to create a photo book and deliver the promised gift.
Everyone is invited to the Glasgow Shape Note Singing workshop on Saturday 21st July!
